I wonder if that is a turn of phrase we should use "redemption of government money" as opposed to "taxpayer dollars"? I also like this article by Alex Little where he lists 4 purposes of taxation: alittleecon.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/on-tax-avoidance-and-the-purpose-of-taxation/The first 2 are just outlines of basic tenets of MMT. The next 2 are "To correct for ‘externalities’ and discourage ‘harmful’ behaviour" AND "For redistributive purposes."

Redemption is a good word. I pulled Bill Mitchell up on using the term "revenue" about a year ago and he agreed he should switch to tax receipts instead.
We definitely need to expunge the terms tax payer funded, cost to the tax payer and tax dollars.
