I am thinking of an idea where, instead of just taking donations and putting them into a big slush fund we have two types of funding:
- Fixed cost funding: salaries and rents and things, are paid via Patreon or a similar subscription service by member donations. When new fixed costs are added, we have to raise the money from party members specifically to cover that cost
- All other expenses such as marketing, events, promotion, fees for representation etc. are to be directly funded through individual crowd funding campaigns specifically for that purpose, with transparency rules around spending/accounting etc.
If we were to set this up in the constitution it would basically mean the party could never be susceptible to corruption.

And on initial read, you'll never have enough money to do anything.

Similar to your thinking Iain, is the GetUp! model. General donations on the website and then adhoc standalone campaign landing pages (eg. successful campaigns in the lead up to the election to depose Tasmanian obstructionists). www.getup.org.au/donate/make-a-donationSpecific provisions around disclosure and transparency beyond what is required by law (ie what we think ought to be the gold standard in disclosure and campaign finance, walk the talk).
